Stories We Wove at JLF
Our reflections from the Jaipur Literature Festival, 2025
Amid the scent of winter blooms and the quiet hum of ideas, we found ourselves at the heart of one of India's most iconic cultural gatherings — the Jaipur Literature Festival.
While writers spoke of narratives that shape nations, we shared our own — of cotton grown organically, of threads woven with care, of design born in simplicity. JLF was not just an event. For Texaura, it was a meeting of minds, materials, and meaning.
A New Kind of Storytelling
Every fabric tells a story — of where it came from, who crafted it, and how it makes you feel. As thousands explored books, we invited them to touch another form of narrative: our organic bedsheets, robes, and bath linens.
What surprised many was how quiet luxury can be felt before it is spoken. There was a tangible curiosity around sustainability — not just the idea of organic cotton, but the actual experience of it. And every time someone reached out to touch the fabric, the response was the same:
"This is so soft."
That moment — the slight widening of eyes, the instinct to reach for it again — is what we build toward with every product. Not a claim on a label, but a feeling that is immediately, undeniably real.
A Moment of Voice and Visibility
A particularly meaningful moment unfolded when our co-founder, Shubhangi Terapanthi, had the opportunity to present her perspective on the Rajasthan budget directly to YourStory founder Shradha Sharma. It was a significant exchange — a woman entrepreneur bringing a homegrown, sustainability-driven point of view to one of India's most important cultural and entrepreneurial platforms.
It reminded us that Texaura is not just a brand. It is a voice — for conscious creation, for local heritage made globally relevant, for the kind of business that measures its success by what it builds rather than what it extracts.
Conversations That Stayed
Visitors came with genuine questions — the kind that tell you an audience is ready to engage rather than just browse:
"Is this really organic cotton?"
"Why does it feel softer than anything I have used before?"
"Where can I find this level of quality without a luxury markup?"
These were not just compliments. They were validations of everything we stand for — comfort rooted in craftsmanship, luxury that is ethical, and beauty that is made to last. The answers to all three questions are the same: because we start with better cotton, process it without chemical shortcuts, and sell directly without the layers of markup that inflate prices without improving product. You can read the full version of that story in our piece on why affordable luxury is not a myth.
The JLF Audience: Curious, Conscious, Cultured
We met readers, writers, travellers, entrepreneurs, and homemakers — all seeking products that align with their evolving values, all aware that the choices they make about what they bring into their homes are part of a larger set of commitments.
The feedback was consistent: people are ready to choose better when given a real alternative. Not a compromise. Not a product that asks them to sacrifice comfort for conscience. Something that genuinely delivers both.
Texaura felt like that alternative. Hearing that from the JLF audience — among the most curious and discerning in India — meant a great deal.
What We Took Back
JLF affirmed what we deeply believe — that great design does not announce itself. It whispers. And when people experience it, they remember how it made them feel, not what it cost or what it claimed.
It also confirmed that sustainability is no longer a niche idea. It is becoming a cultural value — a lens through which an increasingly significant part of India's population is making decisions about food, fashion, travel, and home. The market for elegant, ethical alternatives is not emerging. It is here.
This is just the beginning.
From bookshelves to bedrooms, from conversations to comfort — our journey continues. And we look forward to many more spaces where our threads meet your stories.
